📋 Free Mow Friday — Competition Terms & Conditions

Version 1.1 — Effective from commencement of the Free Mow Friday promotion

Promoter: Hard at it Yard Maintenance (ABN: 22 916 588 904), Gympie, Queensland 4570. Media Partner: Radio 4GY (Gympie–Noosa Broadcasters Pty Ltd), 558 AM / 107.1 FM, Gympie QLD.

Competition commencement date: 8 August 2026

1. Eligibility

• Open to permanent residents of Gympie and surrounding areas within Hard at it Yard Maintenance's current service area.
• Entrants must be aged 18 years or older. Entries submitted on behalf of a person under 18 must be made by a parent or legal guardian.
• Employees, contractors, immediate family members, and household members of Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY are ineligible to enter.
• The nominated property must be a residential dwelling accessible by standard lawn maintenance equipment on foot.
• The nominated property must not be a property at which Hard at it Yard Maintenance is already under a paid service contract at the time of the competition period.
• Properties outside the Promoter's current service area will be deemed ineligible at the Promoter's discretion.
• Entry is free. No purchase is required to enter or to be eligible to win.

2. Competition Period & Key Dates

• Free Mow Friday runs as a series of competition rounds, each covering approximately one month. Each round's entries close at 11:59 PM AEST on the Friday specified for that round below, and the winner is announced on Radio 4GY the following Friday (one week later). The next round's entries open the following Saturday.
• Round 1 — September 2026: entries open Saturday, 8 August 2026, close 11:59 PM AEST Friday, 25 September 2026, winner announced Friday, 2 October 2026.
• Round 2 — October 2026: entries open Saturday, 26 September 2026, close 11:59 PM AEST Friday, 23 October 2026, winner announced Friday, 30 October 2026.
• Round 3 — November 2026: entries open Saturday, 24 October 2026, close 11:59 PM AEST Friday, 20 November 2026, winner announced Friday, 27 November 2026.
• Round 4 — December 2026: entries open Saturday, 21 November 2026, close 11:59 PM AEST Friday, 11 December 2026, winner announced Friday, 18 December 2026.
• Each round's winner is announced via Radio 4GY on-air (558 AM / 107.1 FM) and Hard at it Yard Maintenance social media channels.
• Service delivered: a Friday within 4 weeks of the winner's announcement, as agreed between the Promoter and the winner.
• The Promoter reserves the right to extend, suspend, pause, or permanently discontinue the competition at any time. Where possible, prior notice will be given via Radio 4GY and/or social media.
• Dates for rounds beyond December 2026 will be published on this page and announced via Radio 4GY and social media in advance of each new round opening.

3. How to Enter

• Complete the online entry form at hardatit.com.au/freemowfriday in full — all fields are mandatory and must be completed truthfully.
• Entrants must provide: full legal name, full residential property address, mobile phone number, email address, a written description of their personal situation, and a minimum of one photograph of the nominated property's yard.
• Entrants must provide consent to photo and video capture by ticking the mandatory Photo & Video Consent checkbox on the entry form. Entries without this consent will not be accepted.
• Only one entry per person per monthly competition period is permitted. Duplicate entries will be disqualified.
• Entries from prior months do not carry over. A new entry must be submitted during each monthly period to be eligible.
• Entries submitted by any means other than the official online entry form will not be accepted.
• Late entries — those received after 11:59 PM AEST on the entries-close date for that round (see Section 2 above) — will not be included in that round's selection and will not carry over.

4. Winner Selection

• The winner is selected entirely at the discretion of Hard at it Yard Maintenance in consultation with Radio 4GY, based on genuine need, personal and household circumstances, and property condition as described in and supported by the entry.
• This is a game of skill, not a game of chance or random draw. All valid entries received by the closing date will be reviewed in full. Selection criteria may include but is not limited to: health circumstances, financial hardship, age and mobility, property condition, community impact, and the authenticity of the entrant's story.
• The selection will be made by the entries-close date for that round and the winner announced the following Friday via Radio 4GY on-air broadcast and Hard at it Yard Maintenance's Facebook page (see Section 2 above for each round's specific dates).
• The winner's first name and suburb will be published as part of the announcement. Full addresses will not be publicly disclosed.
• The Promoter's selection decision is final. No correspondence, objections, or appeals will be entered into.

5. Winner Notification & Unclaimed Prize

• The selected winner will be contacted directly by Hard at it Yard Maintenance via the phone number and/or email address provided in their entry, within 2 business days of selection.
• If the selected winner cannot be contacted after 3 genuine attempts within 5 business days of the announcement date, the prize will be deemed unclaimed.
• If the prize is unclaimed, or if the winner is unable or unwilling to receive the service within 30 days of the announcement date, the Promoter reserves the right to select an alternative recipient from that month's valid entries, or to carry the prize forward to the following month's competition at the Promoter's discretion.
• Unclaimed prizes will not be redeemed for cash under any circumstances.

6. The Prize

• One (1) prize is available per monthly competition period.
• The prize consists of one yard maintenance service performed by Hard at it Yard Maintenance, valued at up to $800 (inclusive of GST), and includes the following components:
  • Up to 8 hours of labour by the Hard at it Yard Maintenance team;
  • Lawn mowing of accessible yard areas;
  • Weed treatment (spraying of accessible weed-affected areas);
  • Shrub and hedge cut back;
  • One tip run for green/general waste generated during the service.
• The scope of work performed within the 8-hour labour allocation is at the Promoter's discretion, prioritising the most impactful tasks for the property on the day.
• The prize is not transferable, not redeemable for cash, and has no cash equivalent. It cannot be exchanged for other services.
• The service will be performed on a Friday as mutually agreed between the Promoter and the winner, within 4 weeks of the announcement date, subject to weather conditions, crew availability, and operational scheduling.
• Chemical applications (weed treatment) are subject to weather suitability and safe application conditions on the day. If conditions are unsuitable, this component may be rescheduled or omitted at the Promoter's discretion.
• The tip run covers one standard trailer load of waste generated during the service only. Excess waste beyond one trailer load is not included.
• The prize does not include removal of building materials, hazardous waste, asbestos, chemicals, or any material requiring specialist disposal.
• The prize does not apply to properties presenting significant safety hazards, dangerous or inaccessible terrain, or conditions that prevent safe service delivery as assessed by the Promoter's crew on arrival. In such cases the Promoter may determine the prize cannot be delivered and will select an alternative recipient.

7. Property Access & Site Conditions

• The winner must ensure the property is accessible to the Promoter's crew on the agreed service date, including any locked gates, side access, or areas requiring entry.
• All animals (dogs, livestock, or otherwise) must be secured and kept away from all work areas for the duration of the service. The Promoter's crew reserves the right to cease work and leave the property if animals present a safety risk, and the prize will be deemed delivered in part.
• The winner accepts responsibility for informing the Promoter of any known underground services, irrigation systems, buried cables, or hazards on the property prior to the service date. Hard at it Yard Maintenance accepts no liability for damage to undisclosed underground services or infrastructure.
• Any third-party approvals required to carry out work on the property (e.g. strata, landlord consent, body corporate) are the sole responsibility of the winner to obtain prior to the service date.
• The Promoter reserves the right to photograph and video the property exterior and yard areas. Internal areas of the property will not be entered or photographed without the explicit consent of the winner.

8. Privacy & Data Collection

• Personal information collected through this competition will be used by Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY solely for the purposes of administering the competition and, where applicable, promotional announcements relating to the outcome.
• Your personal information will not be sold, rented, or disclosed to unrelated third parties.
• Personal information may be shared between Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY solely for competition administration purposes.
• By entering, you consent to Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY contacting you by phone, email, or SMS in connection with this competition.
• Entry data and records will be retained by Hard at it Yard Maintenance for a minimum of 3 years following the conclusion of each competition period, in accordance with applicable Queensland record keeping requirements.
• All personal information is handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Promoter's Privacy Policy, available at hardatit.com.au/privacy-policy.

9. Publicity, Media & Content Consent

• Entry into this competition constitutes the entrant's consent to Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY capturing before-and-after photographs and video footage of the nominated property and the service being performed on the day.
• By entering, you grant Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use before-and-after photos, video content, your first name, suburb, and entry story (in whole or in summary form) for promotional and marketing purposes, including but not limited to: social media posts and advertising (Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms), Radio 4GY on-air segments and digital content, the Hard at it Yard Maintenance website and Google Business Profile, paid digital advertising campaigns, and future competition or brand promotional materials.
• By ticking the Photo & Video Consent checkbox on the entry form, you confirm you have the legal authority to grant this consent for the nominated property, and that any other adult occupants of the property have been informed of and agree to this consent.
• Hard at it Yard Maintenance will handle all content respectfully and with dignity. Content will not be used in any manner that is defamatory, misleading, or demeaning to the winner.
• If the selected winner wishes to limit how their content is used (for example, no face shown in video), they must notify the Promoter in writing prior to the service day. The Promoter will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests; however, some content capture is required as a condition of receiving the prize.
• The Photo & Video Consent checkbox on the entry form is mandatory. Entries submitted without this consent will not be accepted.

10. Accuracy of Entries

• The Promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entry containing false, misleading, exaggerated, or incomplete information at any time, including after selection.
• Entries that materially misrepresent the property, personal situation, or the entrant's identity are automatically disqualified, and the Promoter may select an alternative recipient.
• The Promoter reserves the right to verify the eligibility and circumstances of any entrant or winner prior to delivering the prize. Winners may be asked to provide supporting documentation confirming their situation if required.

11. Indemnity

• By accepting the prize, the winner indemnifies and holds harmless Hard at it Yard Maintenance, its operators, employees, and subcontractors from and against any claims, losses, damages, costs, or liabilities arising out of or in connection with the service being performed at the property, to the extent permitted by law.
• The winner acknowledges that Hard at it Yard Maintenance will take all reasonable care during the service, and that the Promoter carries public liability insurance appropriate to the services provided.
• The winner accepts that natural variation in lawn, plant, and shrub appearance following cutting, trimming, or chemical treatment does not constitute damage or negligence on the part of the Promoter.

12. Limitation of Liability

• To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Australian law, Hard at it Yard Maintenance and Radio 4GY accept no liability for any loss, damage, injury, or disappointment suffered by any entrant or winner in connection with this competition or the receipt or use of the prize.
• The Promoter is not responsible for technical failures, server errors, incomplete or lost submissions, or entries not received for any reason.
• Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any rights or remedies which cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Disputes & Complaints

• Any disputes, concerns, or complaints relating to this competition should be directed in writing to Hard at it Yard Maintenance at info@hardatit.com.au in the first instance.
• The Promoter will acknowledge all written complaints within 5 business days and endeavour to resolve disputes within 14 business days.
• If a dispute cannot be resolved between the parties, it shall be referred to mediation in Queensland before either party may commence legal proceedings.
• These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, and the parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

14. General Conditions

• This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta Platforms Inc. (Facebook / Instagram).
• The prize does not include tobacco products, firearms, weapons, ammunition, explosives, cosmetic surgery, or any prohibited prize type under Queensland law.
• The Promoter reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Where material changes are made, updated terms will be published at hardatit.com.au/freemowfriday.
• Competition records, including all entries received, will be retained for a minimum of 3 years following the conclusion of each monthly competition period.
• Participation in this competition constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
