Two Mile is a small rural locality about 3 km north-west of Gympie, with the Bruce Highway running through it and the heritage-listed Two Mile State School on the highway. Only a few dozen people live there (69 at the 2021 census), and the properties are mostly larger rural and rural residential blocks.

Gympie’s wettest months run from December to March, and that is when grass on rural blocks grows fastest. Booking regular visits through summer keeps the job manageable; leaving it until autumn usually means a much bigger clean-up.

Larger rural blocks are where invasive weeds tend to get established. Gympie Regional Council’s list of top weeds includes giant rat’s tail grass, groundsel bush, fireweed and cat’s claw creeper, and all of them are far easier to deal with early. When we are on site we keep an eye out and can treat or remove weeds around the house area before they spread further.

We also clear around tanks, sheds, letterboxes and gateways — the spots that are easy to forget but quickly get overgrown — and take green waste away if you do not have room to compost or burn it.
